A video circulating on social media follows a woman in Manhattan having a public meltdown on Sunday, pulling people’s chairs, knocking over sidewalk tables, and charging at a mother and her baby at a park.
The video begins with the woman approaching a lady sitting on the grass and pulling her by the hair at Tompkins Square Park in the city’s East Village a little before 4 p.m. She is then charging at a mother holding a baby. Several bystanders can be seen standing up and confronting the woman as she screams loudly.
In another scene, the woman screams at several people and then walks up to a man sitting on a bench in the park. She grabs a newspaper from his hands, tears it up, and throws the pieces on the floor. The woman then approaches another victim a few benches away, grabs their drink, and smashes it on the pavement.
The video then cuts to the woman flipping sidewalk tables and chairs, creating a mess on the street. One of the tables was occupied by dinners, sending the food and tableware flying.
After about a 30-minute rampage, police finally arrested the woman near East Ninth Street. An NYPD spokesperson said they received multiple 911 calls reporting the disturbance at around 4:20 p.m.
"You don't go around beating up strange people in the street, like seven people," a man says as the police attempt to place the woman inside an ambulance. "Pulling their hair, dragging them everywhere."
“Nobody died b—h, nobody,” the woman shouts back.
The woman was taken to Bellevue Hospital for a medical evaluation, the NYPD spokesperson said.
“Probably a repeat offender that is not getting the care she needs,” said Joseph Giacalone, a former NYPD sergeant who teaches at the John Jay College of Criminal Justice told Fox News.
