At least 23 people were injured after an SUV slammed into a restaurant in Manhattan on Monday, authorities reported.

At around 9 p.m., a Toyota Rav 4 slammed into the outdoor eating area of Inwood Bar & Grill on West 204th Street and Broadway, the New York Police Department said.

According to the police, the SUV crashed into the restaurant after it was rear-ended by another car, causing the driver to lose control of the car. The Toyota SUV went over the curb, crashing through the restaurant’s front window.

At least 23 were injured, including three children, from the accident, reported NBC News. Video footage taken moments after the crash shows people lying on the sidewalk, waiting to be treated by police.

The fire department said that none of the injuries were life-threatening. Most injuries were caused by flying glass. The most serious injury was a 10-year-old girl who suffered a broken leg.

The car that caused the accident was identified as an Audi. However, the driver sped off after the accident and is still on the loose. According to ABC 7 New York, the occupants of the Audi were reportedly in a dispute before speeding off.

According to State Assemblymember Manny De Los Santos, the Audi had fake New Jersey plates.

The driver of the Rav 4, identified as Sory Toure, was operating as an Uber at the time of the accident and had a passenger in the vehicle. Toure, 32, and the female passenger were treated for minor injuries.

"When he hit me, I think like, my life is gone," Toure told ABC 7 New York.
