Christina Aguilera shared details about her upcoming Spanish album during an interview with Elle magazine.

According to the singer, it is a project she wanted to make for over two decades. “This has been a project that I've wanted to do for the past 20 plus years,” she said.

The details of the album’s release are still unknown. Aguilera only told fans the album will “finally be released very soon” in an interview with Insider.

During the interview, she revealed that she had shot two music videos for the release of the first single.

This upcoming album will be the second Spanish-language studio album that Aguilera rereleases. Aguilera recorded her first Spanish album, Mi Reflejo, when she was still a teenager in 2000.

“I could cry about it knowing that it's finally about to be heard by my fans and the world,” Aguilera said of the project.

For her, the album is a way to share with her children who she is and her family’s background. Aguilera’s father is from Ecuador and she grew up hearing Spanish in her household.

“[I’m] showing them that even though [Spanish] isn’t mommy’s first language, this is a part of your history,” said the singer.

Aguilera recently showed the world a glimpse of the project with the new track “Pa Mis Muchachas,” a song featuring Becky G, Nicki Nicole, and Nathy Peluso.
