Former NBA player Ben Gordon was arrested at New York’s LaGuardia airport on Monday after he allegedly hit his 10-year-old son.

Gordon, 39, was arrested while he was waiting to board his plane to Chicago at around 8:45 p.m. after a witness told police officers that he had punched his head in the son with a closed fist, reported TMZ.

Gordon resisted the arrest, resulting in two injured officers, according to The New York Post. The extent of their injuries is unknown.

His son was escorted by an aunt and taken to Long Island Jewish Children’s Hospital for a medical evaluation.

The child had a restraining order against Gordon, according to law enforcement sources.

The former NBA Chicago Bulls shooting guard was processed at the Port Authority police station house. Gordon was charged with assault, criminal contempt, and resisting arrest.

This is not the first time that Gordon has been arrested. In 2017, he was arrested for an alleged assault and robbery. On another occasion, he was arrested for driving with a forged license plate. One other incident involved him setting off fire alarms inside his Los Angeles house when there was no fire.
