A YES network cameraman was struck by an errant throw at Yankee Stadium on Wednesday night during the bottom of the fifth inning, reports ESPN and other sports outlets.

While Baltimore Orioles rookie shortstop Gunnar Henderson was trying to complete a double play, he threw an errant baseball to first base, which soared over Ryan O’Hearn and instead struck a cameraman.

The camera operator was soon identified as YES Network’s Pete Stendel who was filming by the first-base line.

Thrown off guard, Stendel held his head in pain and then fell backward, hitting the ground.

The scene was described as “very scary” to some and resulted in the game being suspended for about 15 minutes as stadium personnel checked his vitals.

He was then onboarded and taken to a hospital.

Giving Yankees fans a signal he would be okay, Stendel raised his hand and gave a peace sign as he was taken off the field.

Reports indicated the cameraman remained conscious, and is currently getting tests at a NYC area hospital, YES Network reported.

“He had a pretty bad reaction when he got hit,’’ Yankees outfielder Jake Bauers said, according to a report published by The New York Post. “Our thoughts are with him.”

Baseball players from both teams exited the field as the emergency vehicle was driven away.

“We’re definitely praying for him,’’ manager Aaron Boone said. “I saw pretty well right away. “It was very scary.”

After all the commotion, New York faced another disappointment: the Yankees lost to the Orioles, 6-3.
