Footage shared on social media shows the moment brave security guards stopped a man who attempted a robbery with an AR-15 rifle in Buffalo, New York.

The video shows the suspect entering the Alba de Vida substance abuse treatment clinic with the semi-automatic weapon and firing a shot inside the clinic.

A brave security guard standing by the clinic’s lobby is then seen immediately rushing towards the suspect, managing to push the weapon out of the way. He then tackles the gunman against a wall.

A second guard appears to help subdue the attacker, taking the fight outside of the clinic. Two passersbys also provided help and between the four of them, they eventually managed to fully subdue the gunman, who had not yet let go of the weapon.

'When I had him and I had the rifle, I was just saying "Jesus, Jesus, Jesus," said the first guard, Reynaldo Beckford.

'And that's when he turned back and he had stopped fighting for a while and that's when the other security guard was coming down the stairs.'

Beckford has been in the security industry for more than 20 years. He said that at that moment he was scared for his life but did his duty to serve and protect.

The gunman was identified as Jeremy Griffin, 48, from Williamsville New York. He was been charged with several felonies, including attempted murder, the police said.
