A 64-year-old man was brutally beaten with a rock in an unprovoked attack at a Brooklyn subway station last weekend in the latest subway attack in the city.

According to police, Intazar Dar was riding the Q train from lower Manhattan into Brooklyn after work at around 1 a.m. when he noticed a man onboard the train mumbling to himself and pacing up and down.

At Avenue H station in Midwood, Dar stepped off the train but the shirtless suspect followed him and began arguing with him.

The suspect then jumped onto the train tracks, grabbed a rock, and got back onto the platform. At that point, the suspect pushes Dar as he approached the turnstiles, according to surveillance footage released by police.

The suspect bashed Dar’s head with the rock, causing the victim to lose consciousness. The unidentified suspect fled the station.

Dar was taken to the Maimonides Medical Center where he was treated for head trauma, reported The New York Post.

“This is the first time it’s happened in my life in New York City, but now I’m scared,” Dar told ABC’s Eyewitness News.

“It’s been two years since I’ve been doing my job — I don’t have any problem with this place … now I see a lot of homeless people – they make me scared,” he added.

Police are currently looking for the suspect, which they describe as a male in his 30s, approximately 5 feet 9 inches with brown eyes and black hair.
