A man was killed on Friday after he was slashed in the neck on board a subway train in New York City.

Tommy Bailey, 43, got into an argument with another passenger aboard a southbound L train near the Atlantic Avenue subway station in Brooklyn at around 8:45 p.m., according to police.

During the dispute, the suspect attacked Bailey, slashing him in the neck with a sharp object before running off.

Bailey was taken to Brookdale Hospital hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The suspect is still on the loose and police are asking for the public’s help in finding him. The suspect is being described as having gold teeth and was last seen wearing a gray sweatshirt.

"We have already identified dozens of cameras that the NYPD believes may assist in the investigation of this senseless crime and we will continue to assist investigators with video and in any other way possible to ensure the perpetrator is caught," the Metropolitan Transportation Authority, which runs the city’s subways, said in a statement.

Bailey’s death marks the sixth murder in New York City’s subway system this year, according to NYPD.

The investigation is still ongoing.
