The man who allegedly committed a string of stabbings in New York City over Christmas weekend was arrested, authorities reported on Monday.

Roland Cordington was arrested and charged adter a citywide manhunt that took place on Christmas eve.

While the investigation into the killings is not over, the New York Police Department (NYPD) says that Cordington has been linked to at least three incidents. However, authorities belive he might be involved in many more.

“We're looking at all the stabbings throughout the city to see if he's done any others," NYPD Chief of Detectives James Essig said in the latest news conference.

Cordington, 35, has a long criminal history. He has been arrested 12 times, most recently during a crime spree that took place on December 19.

NYPD believe that it was around that time that Cordington killed one of his first victims: a 51-year-old man he bumbed into. The encounter led to a brief fight and then Codrington fatally slashed the man in the neck.

On December 22, Cordington allegedly assaulted a female bartender at a bar on Second Avenue in East Harlem. When two customers tried to intervene, he stabbed them with a large knife.

One day later, the suspect allegedly stabbed a 61-year-old pediatician inside Marcus Garvey Bark. The victim, Dr. Bruce Maurice Henry, was found with his thoat slit.

The three incidents were connected to each other after Cordington and his girlfriend were spotted in the doctor’s Mercedes Benz.

"While we applaud the great work of our officers, our hearts go out to the family and friends and loved ones of the victims who fell prey to this predator," NYPD said.
