A fourteen-year-old teenager died on Saturday afternoon after being stabbed inside a moving train in Manhattan.

The incident occurred around 3:00 p.m. when a dispute between the victim and suspect began on the street and continued on the subway. The assault took place on the northbound Line 1 platform at the 137 St-City College station in Hamilton Heights.

During the argument, the assailant pulled out a knife and stabbed the young man in the abdomen, according to the NYPD. The victim was rushed to St. Luke's Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Police recovered a knife and a broomstick from the scene.

A homeless man described the moment he encountered the injured boy: "His lips were purple and his eyes were blank, and he was bleeding a lot. Also, some teenagers who ran out of the station wanted to take his phone."

The Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) camera provided clear images of the people who were present at the time of the incident. Officers went to witnesses, who described the suspect.

It was at that time that police arrested an individual matching the description at Broadway & W 173rd St.

The suspect, possibly 18 or 19 years old, was bleeding from his back and abdomen and was taken to an area hospital for treatment.

The police continue to investigate the incident.
