A drone captured the moment a huge shark stalked several beachgoers in Daytona Beach. The drone belongs to a man named Blake Russ, who was visiting the city on Florida's Atlantic coast for a family reunion, Newsweek reported Wednesday.

Russ told Storyful that he spotted the shark, thought to be about seven feet long, near the Daytona Beach pier within minutes of activating his drone.

The video shows the shark swimming on the shore of the beach through several people who do not seem to notice its presence.

"The shark was swimming at the height of where the wave breaks," noted Russ, who continued to film with the drone for about 15 minutes as he tracked the huge animal.

"Every time it approached people, it would change direction and circle them," Russ added. "People never realized the shark was there. They would often look at the drone and wave, unaware that the shark was swimming next to them."

The filmmaker's brother, Robert Russ, said the shark, which may have been a blacktip shark, swam about a mile and a half north of the local boardwalk.

"I would say if you're swimming in the ocean and a drone comes up to you, look at the water around you and not at the drone. You're not that special, the drone is probably filming something else," Blake Russ confessed to Storyful.
