A woman who was missing for five days in the Australian wilderness survived by eating lollipops and drinking wine, authorities said.
On Sunday, Lillian, 48, embarked on a short day trip in High Country in Victoria, Australia, when her vehicle got stuck in the mud after taking a wrong turn.
Realizing that she could not get her car out she also notices that she had no cell phone reception to call for help. Due to health issues, Lilian was not able to walk to the nearest town, which was 37 miles away, forcing her to stay within the car in the remote bush.
She was found by rescuers five days after she had been reported missing by her family after they did not receive Lillian’s daily call-in. A frantic search for the woman ensued, prompting police to deploy a helicopter in hopes of finding her.
Aerial footage released by authorities shows the exact moment Lillian was found by emergency services on Friday. The crew on the helicopter manage to spot her car in the hilly terrain and direct a police van to her location.

According to the emergency services personnel that found her, she managed to survive with “a couple of snacks” and “common sense.”
"The only liquid Lillian, who doesn’t drink, had with her was a bottle of wine she had bought as a gift for her mother so that got her through,” said Sergeant Martin Torpey.
"She was only planning a short-day trip so had only taken a couple of snacks and lollipops with her but no water,” he added.
"She used great common sense to stay with her car and not wander off into bushland, which assisted in police being able to find her."
Lillian, who was “extremely relieved” to be rescued, was taken to a nearby hospital to be treated and remains under medical observation because she was dehydrated.
