Formula 1: Max Verstappen prepares for Singapore after Italian Grand Prix victory

Max Verstappen will continue his Formula 1 championship winning streak this Friday, Sept. 15-Sunday, Sept. 17 at the Singapore Grand Prix Marina Bay Street Circuit.

The F1 racer hit a new level last Sunday, Sept. 3, when he won in Monza, home of the Scuderia.

Verstappen has now won 10 consecutive F1 victories, demolishing Sebastian Vettel's record from a decade ago, and adding another Italian Grand Prix to his 47 Formula one wins to date. Racing spectators enjoyed a beautiful sunny day and action across the entire grid, culminating in another Red Bull 1-2 finish.

As the ‘Temple of Speed’ – Monza's nickname – pumped energy into the entire grid, several entertaining tussles were enjoyed by the thousands in attendance and millions watching from around the world.

Verstappen and Sergio Pérez were set to finish at the top of the order and did not fight; however, teammates Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz had a battle until the very end. In the case of a collision, Ferrari could have suffered a serious setback. In a very deserving way, the Spaniard finished third and earned his first podium of the season. Right behind him was Leclerc in fourth.

In the hopes of bringing his protege Leclerc home victorious in front of their crowd, Frederic Vasseur let his drivers fight on track, rather than order them to maintain positions and avoid an accident.

Ever since the Italian team brought Sainz on board, it has become clearly evident that the Spaniard will not be protected at all by Ferrari, hence he was forced to defeat his teammate and his team on the track.

Mercedes was the next best of the rest with George Russell in fifth and Lewis Hamilton in sixth, while Alexander Albon had to show his defensive skills to finish seventh and hold off Lando Norris. Ninth place was awarded to Fernando Alonso, while Valterri Bottas rounded out the top ten.

The Dutch driver had to come from second on the grid to beat pole-sitter Sainz for the win. 

It was Ferrari's home race, and their fans were in high spirits after their team earned pole position with Sainz on Saturday. The scarlet fumes covered the Monza track as a result of the incredible atmosphere brought about by the tifosi when Yuki Tsunoda's car failed during the formation lap, halting the race for almost thirty minutes.

In his first lead of the year, Sainz kept Verstappen in second with a perfect getaway. This showed an aggressiveness not seen in Ferrari recently. As Sainz's fans watched him entertain them for the first 15 laps of the race, it was inevitable that Verstappen would take the lead from Sainz and never look back in the process of making F1 history.

There was no doubt that the Bulls would finish at the top, and it was not a question of if, but when they would do so.

However, most of the action took place behind the unstoppable leader, who is likely to become this season's champion. As the teams changed tires and developed strategies, 'Checo' was trying to sneak past both Scuderia cars.

With his dominant RB19 and tire degradation, the Mexican passed Russell, Leclerc, and Sainz by remaining patient, like a lion prowling on the prey.

In this season's racing, no other team has won a race besides the bulls.

This was the last race on European circuits this year and it was an exhilarating experience to watch on this beautiful Italian afternoon. 

Teammate fights were the theme of the day, with McLaren drivers touching their cars and Ferrari's Leclerc nearly rear ending Sainz. Additionally, both Mercedes drivers received penalties for separate incidents.

Among those who should be mentioned is Liam Lawson, who had to replace an injured Daniel Ricciardo last weekend and completed his first complete F1 weekend, finishing 11th and just missing out on points (only the top ten earn them).

Each race is normally decided by changes in elevation, track traction, and other conditions, but the red hot Red Bull Formula One team has been unbeatable this season, winning all of the races on the calendar and the last GP of the previous season.

Currently, the only way Max can fail to win a race is if he cannot complete the race, since his RB19 is performing like nothing else we have ever seen.

The only time a F1 team has come close to perfection was in 1988, when McLaren won 15 of 16 races. 

A total of 23 races will take place over the course of this calendar, which started in Bahrain in the first week of March and will conclude in Abu Dhabi on November 26th.

There is still a lot to learn about F1's season, including when the current leader will be crowned much before the season ends, if Alonso earns his 33rd victory, and how McLaren, Mercedes, Aston Martin, and Williams keep improving their respective cars.
