The legendary soccer player Mino Raiola is fighting for his life at 54 in a hospital in Milan. His situation is so delicate that one of Italy’s main digital media outlets even reported his death a few hours ago. The first media to report the news was the Italian television TG La 7

Last January, Raiola underwent emergency surgery for his lung condition and could not overcome it. He has remained out of the media spotlight ever since. His entourage denied it in a statement: "Mino Raiola has undergone the ordinary medical controls with the need for anesthesia. These are scheduled controls, there was no emergency intervention.” Yet today the news of his death was reported in the leading Italian media.

However, Dr. Alberto Zangrillo of Milan's San Raffaele Hospital told the Italian news agency Ansa: "I am outraged by the calls from pseudo-journalists who speculate about the life of a man struggling to survive."

Mino Raiola's official Twitter account shared a message following the latest reports about his state of health: "Current state of health for those wondering: pissed off. Second time in 4 months that I've been killed. Looks like I'm also able to resurrect."

Real Madrid was one of the first to speak out on social media regarding the early news of his “death.” "Real Madrid CF, its president, and board of directors deeply regret the death of Mino Raiola and wish to express their condolences, love, and affection to all his family and loved ones," the club posted on its Twitter account. However, minutes later, the tweet was deleted. The same was done by the major sports media that reported the initial information in Europe.

For years, the player has been making headlines in the media for his outspoken statements and for the million-dollar commissions he received in the galactic transfers of his players.

In recent months, before falling ill, he was in the spotlight more than ever due to the interest of half of Europe in acquiring the services of one of his clients, Norwegian striker Erling Haaland. Real Madrid, Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain, and Manchester City were all vying for the player represented by Raiola. During his successful career he won the award for Best Player Agent in European soccer.
