The most popular dog names of 2022 have been revealed by the American Kennel Club (AKC). Did your dog’s name make the list?
“Dogs are an important part of our families, and people take great care in choosing a name,” said American Kennel Club Executive Secretary Gina DiNardo. “It’s fun to see if a dog’s personality is reflected in its name.”
AKC compiled the top 10 most popular dog names for 2022 for boy and girl dogs using data from its purebred dog registration and Canine Partner mixed-breed enrollment.
The list of top ten female dog names:

- Penny
- Sadie
- Maggie
- Rosie
- Ruby
The top list for male dog names:

- Cooper
- Charlie
- Teddy
- Tucker
