A 68-year-old Wisconsin man celebrated eating at least one McDonald’s Big Mac hamburger every day for 50 years last week.

Don Gorske, a retired prison guard, has eaten at least 32,943 Big Macs since eating his first at his local McDonald’s in Fond Du Lac, WI, at the age of 10.

“The first time I had one, I thought it was just the best food ever,” Gorske told the Guiness Book of World Records.

He promised his dad when he grew up, he was going to eat McDonald’s every day of his life.

“When you’re a kid, you say a lot of stupid stuff,” says Gorske, told The Washington Post.

“Who knew that it would come true?”

The Fond Du Lac location has a picture of him on their wall and greets him by name every time he comes in. More often than not, he eats two of the burgers a day.

The referenced media source is missing and needs to be re-embedded.

And Gorske is still not tired of them. He jokes that his habit has also been great for his wife, who has never had to cook for him their entire marriage.

Gorske also insists his fast food diet has not affected his health. He eats healthily besides outside the Big Macs and Cokes and never orders fries.

He also walks a lot and stays active and helps his son’s signmaking shop to stay active, according to The Post.

His hobby is writing letters, mostly with widows and widowers of the fellow officers he worked with at the prison for 25 years.

Gorske also writes letters to those he has met through his lifestyle quirk, like international friends who have sent him Big Mac boxes from outside the U.S.
