“Stranger Things” star Joseph Quinn was detained by U.S. immigration officers when he tried to enter the country on Monday, causing him to nearly miss his scheduled appearance on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.”

"I very nearly didn't make it," Quinn said revealed during an interview with Fallon. "I was taken into, I guess what you could call it more of a dungeon. And I was asked to wait there for about 20 minutes and then I was summoned to this desk where someone asked me, 'What are you doing in the United States, sir?'"

"I said, 'I'm actually here to meet Jimmy Fallon on "The Tonight Show."' And he didn't believe me."

The British actor said he was only released because one of the officer’s colleagues recognized him for his part in Stranger Things, in which he plays Eddie Munson, the leader of the Dungeons and Dragons club who helps save the town of Hawkins.

"And one of his colleagues looked over at him, looked at me, and said: 'Leave Eddie alone!'" Quinn recalled. "And then [the colleague] said, 'It's Eddie from "Stranger Things,"' and he was like, 'You're Eddie Munson?'"

"[The man asked] 'Do you come back next season?' I was like, 'I don't know,' and he said, 'You better,' and gave me my passport," Quin continued.

It is yet unknown whether Quinn will return for the fifth and final season of Stranger Things. Curious fans will have to wait until the TV show is released. However, Netflix has not announced a release date.
