Jada Pinkett Smith admits to pornography and drug addiction

The controversy generated by Will Smith's slapping of Chris Rock at the most recent Oscars has only increased the media’s interest in their marriage, which had already been the subject of much talk in the past due Jada Pinkett Smith’s confessions she has made over the years on her family show Red Table Talk.

Since her husband's controversy, old testimonies of the actress have not stopped coming to light. In one of them, for example, she claims that she never wanted to marry the King Richard star and that she did it only because she was young and pregnant with their first child. In another episode, the American actress, producer, director, singer, songwriter, and businesswoman said that she was addicted to drugs and pornography.

Pinkett said that before her wedding she went through a complicated time in which she consumed all kinds of substances and had sex compulsively. She eventually tried to curb these addictions by turning to pornography, but only succeeded in creating a new problem.

"What I was doing was unhealthy, I had a relationship with pornography that was not good for me, I had consumed it up to five times a day," the "Matrix" star revealed. "I wanted to practice abstinence and that led me to establish an unhealthy relationship with what I watched, I felt empty."

Jada also said that when her daughter Willow turned 11, she had a very frank conversation with her about the dangers of watching certain types of adult material. "We are very open in our family, we like to put all points on the table," said then the actress, who has always been committed to fostering communication, even if that means addressing painful topics.
