Former briefcase models rip into Meghan Markle's ‘Deal or No Deal’ bimbo-fication claims

Meghan Markle’s claims of feeling “objectified” while working as a briefcase model on “Deal or No Deal” are being criticized by her former coworkers.

Two former models on the popular game show ripped into the Duchess of Sussex for comments she made during an appearance on socialite Paris Hilton’s podcast, where she claimed she had been treated like a “bimbo.”

"Deal or No Deal NEVER treated us like bimbos," former castmate Claudia Jordan told Inside Edition.

"I'm especially protective of Howie Mandel who was nothing but kind and respectful,” she added, referring to the game show’s host.

Markle was on Hilton’s “Archetypes” podcast to help break down “the bimbo” stereotype. She reminisced about her experience as a briefcase girl on Deal or No Deal before she got her big break in “Suits,” saying she was “grateful” for the job but felt “objectified.”

“I would end up leaving with this pit in my stomach, knowing I was so much more than what was being objectified on the stage,” she said. “I didn’t like feeling forced to be all looks and little substance. And that’s how it felt for me at the time, being reduced to this specific archetype.”

Patricia Kara, a model who appeared in every episode, also hit back at Markle.

“Funny, I remember a group of hard-working, strong-minded, independent women that found great success in the entertainment industry and their personal/professional lives after,” Kara, who was Model #9, tweeted in response to coverage of Markle’s comments.

“But what do I know, I only appeared on every episode and knew everyone involved in the show,” she continued in a reply. “It’s too bad if everyone didn’t find happiness or the success they wanted.”

Earlier this week, “The View” co-host Whoopi Goldberg even called out the exiled royal for her claims.

"That's TV, baby. But what did you think you were going to? You know that's what the show was,” she said.
