Chayanne sparks speculation he got a "makeover" over video posted on social media

At 54 years old, Chayanne still looks spectacular. That's why the debate about how he looks in a video he posted on social media to promote one of his projects, is so striking.

The video was uploaded last June but went viral after some users wanted to see images that prove the Puerto Rican singer underwent a cosmetic procedure on his face to look younger.

In the clip, Chayanne talks about the release of the song "Te amo y punto," but what caught everyone's attention was that his face looked swollen, and he apparently he barely had facial expressions.

Immediately, the feedback about his physical appearance piled up. "What did he do to himself?"; "there was no need to destroy your face now, you should sue the cosmetologist who destroyed it"; "he apparently got Botox"; "how different his face looks!!!"; "he looks like Don Francisco", they said.

On previous occasions, however, Chayanne has assured us that he doesn't care about what people think about his appearance. 

"I am happy and there are no hang-ups. They say that a gentleman has no memory and that you shouldn't ask his age. But I have no problem with being asked," he said in an interview with People in 2019.

"I've always believed in taking care of myself, exercising daily, eating healthy, but without having to deprive myself of what I like. I just believe that everything should be done with measure," he added.

Chayanne whose real name is Elmer Figueroa de Arce was born in Puerto Rico on June 28, 1969. He is the father of two children, Isadora Sofía Figueroa and Lorenzo Valentino Figueroa, with his wife Marilisa Maronesse. Whether rumors of plastic surgery are true or not, there is no doubt that Chayanne is like good wine, and the 6'2" foot Puerto Rican singer seems to get better with age!
