Camila Cabello and Shawn Mendes announce their breakup

Singers Camila Cabello and Shawn Mendes announced their breakup on Wednesday.

The former couple shared a matching statement on their Instagram Stories announcing their breakup.

“We’ve decided to end our romantic relationship but our love for one another as humans is stronger than ever,” said the post.

“We started our relationship as best friends and will continue to be best friends. We so appreciate your support from the beginning and moving forward.”

Mendes and Cabello confirmed their relationship in July 2019 on Instagram. After officially becoming a couple, the pair made regular appearances on each other’s social media and at public events. They continued to date for over two years.

The couple recently performed at the 2021 VMA’s; Cabello performed “Don’t Go Yet” and Mendez sang his hit “Summer of Love” with Tainy.

The announcement left fans in shock, as the couple still appeared to be very much in love on social media on Halloween.

Cabello is currently working on her third studio album, “Familia,” which includes the hit single, “Don’t Go Yet.” In March, Mendes will start his World Tour, “Wonder.”
