Bruce Willis can no longer act due to degenerative disease

The family of the famous actor announced this morning that he is suffering from a degenerative disease that has forced him to give up his career

Bruce Willis suffers from a degenerative disease that has forced him to retire from acting, the family of the 67-year-old announced on Wednesday, leaving millions of fans shocked. 

After nearly half a century of starring roles in multimillion-dollar films, the renowned actor of such classics as Die Hard and Pulp Fiction put an end to his career in film. Willis' ailment affects his ability to communicate, among other minor movement problems.

The statement that spread the sad news explains that the action film actor was diagnosed with aphasia, a brain disease that affects his speech. The condition will gradually reduce his ability to write or understand both oral and written language.

“To Bruce’s amazing supporters, as a family we wanted to share that our beloved Bruce has been experiencing some health issues and has recently been diagnosed with aphasia, which is impacting his cognitive abilities. As a result of this and with much consideration Bruce is stepping away from the career that has meant so much to him,” she posted.

Willis' daughter, a 33-year-old actress that is the daughter of Willis and Demi Moore, said that the situation is very difficult for the family.


“This is a really challenging time for our family and we are so appreciative of your continued love, compassion and support. We are moving through this as a strong family unit, and wanted to bring his fans in because we know how much he means to you, as you do to him. As Bruce always says, “Live it up” and together we plan to do just that, ,” she continued.

The news shared by the actor's daughters and his current wife Emma Heming, was also shared by Moore, whom he divorced in 2000 but has maintained an amicable relationship ever since.
