The 40-year-old singer announced that she is pregnant with Sam Asghari, with whom she got engaged in September last year. It was through Instagram that Britney Spears revealed that she would soon bring a new baby into the world. This would be the Pop Princess’ third child and the younger sibling of Sean Preston, 16, and Jayden James, 15, product of her previous marriage to Kevin Federline.
The news of the pregnancy comes five months after Spears was freed from the legal guardianship that her father, James Spears, held for more than a decade.
"I lost a lot of weight to go on my trip to Maui, only to gain it back again," Britney said on Monday in a post she shared on her Instagram profile. "I thought, 'gosh... what happened to my stomach?" adding that her "husband" said that it wasn't from eating but from a pregnancy.
"So, I took a pregnancy test...and, well...I'm having a baby," the Toxic Singer added.
For the moment, the singer of the hit song Oops! I Did It Again has not yet shown her baby bump. Instead, she told her millions of fans that her body was changing rapidly. Still, many of her followers were confused by the star's post, as it was not completely clear if it was pregnancy or weight gain.
"Four days later, I was a little bit more pregnant - it's getting bigger!" said Britney, adding that she thinks it could be twins. "If there are two in there...I could freak out."
Spears is very happy about this new stage of her life, but she also reassured her fans that she will avoid being on the streets since she does not want the paparazzi to make money with photos of her, "as unfortunately, they have already done".
"It's hard, because, when I was pregnant and had prenatal depression... I have to say it was absolutely horrible," she noted in her post. "Women didn't talk about it back then... some people considered it dangerous if a woman complained about it with a baby in the womb... but now women talk about them every day... Thanks to Jesus, we no longer have to keep our pain a secret," continued the celebrity.
Britney is confident that she knows how to deal with pregnancy this time, given her previous experiences.
"Now I'll be doing yoga every day!" she added, sensing lots of happiness and love to her fans. Several celebrities have commented on Spears' post, including Paris Hilton.
