Ben Affleck warned ex Jennifer Garner before announcing engagement to J.Lo

Jennifer Garner, Ben Affleck's ex-wife and mother of his three children, spoke out about the most talked-about marriage engagement of the moment. But, according to a source close to the actress, "The Tender Bar" star himself warned his ex and children about the engagement before it was publicly revealed, reported E!News.

"Ben told Jenn and the kids, so they already knew," said the source. As for how Garner feels about the relationship, the source revealed that the "Alias," "Daredevil," "Elektra," and "Dallas Buyers Club" star - who is also turning 50 this month - "is happy for Ben, and knows that in some ways JLo has been a positive influence."

While Ben and JLo are excited about this next chapter in their lives, they were both "hoping to keep it private a little longer," according to the same source.

JLo and Ben were first engaged in 2002 but broke up two years later. She later married Marc Anthony and gave birth to their children, Emme and Max Muñiz.

Ben did the same with Garner, with whom he had three children, Violet, 16, Seraphina, 13, and Samuel, 10.
