Angelina Jolie's confession: she asked a hitman to kill her when she was in her 20's

Angelina Jolie is currently one of the most respected actresses in the film industry worldwide. The American actress has millions of fans waiting for her appearance on the big screen to shower her with compliments. But what many of her fans don't know is that she experienced painful moments in her youth that almost cost her her life.

It was this week when the star shared some surprising confessions that left the entire audience of Javier Cardenas' morning show speechless. Jolie said that when she was about 20 years old, she had all kinds of ideas on how to take her own life.

In the podcast Levántate Ok, the social activist commented that during a very dark time in her youth she contacted a hitman whom she planned to pay to kill her. 

The actress thought that hiring an assassin would be the best way to lose her life since her relatives would not feel as much guilt as if she were likely to commit suicide.

Jolie stated that the person she had hired to kill her "spoke to her very sweetly, and made her think about it for a month. And after that time other things changed in her life and she survived again," the actress said.

"With suicide comes all the guilt of the people around you thinking they could have done something," he added about the tough time, which he has never managed to forget.

Angelina pointed out that today she considers herself a lucky woman after having resisted the strong crisis of her youth. "I survived my worst moments, the darkest ones, and I persevered. I did not die young, and this is a great success: many artists could not endure what I had to endure," she concluded.
