For the actress, this event represents a victory and ends a process in which she has been very involved. Last February, Jolie spoke at El Capitol as a previous step to the president’s signature. As expected, the celebrity was seen dressed impeccably at the event.

For the actress, this event represents a victory and ends a process in which she has been very involved. Last February, Jolie spoke at El Capitol as a previous step to the president’s signature. As expected, the celebrity was seen dressed impeccably at the event.

During the ceremony, Angelina spoke about the need to move the bill forward with an emotional speech, impacting those who attended. "Standing here in the center of our nation's power, I can only think of all those who have been made to feel powerless by their abusers because of a system that failed to protect them," she said.

The Maleficent actress was accompanied by her daughter Zahara, just like when she visited the Capitol before. The celebrity has always supported this cause, mainly due to her role as a mother. Jolie's daughter, although not yet of age, is also very involved in social causes—a passion she visibly shares with her mother. For some time now, the young girl has been seen accompanying Angelina at events of this magnitude. Zahara has also been with her mother in other more casual encounters, such as the premieres of the actress's projects.

After the signing of the reauthorization of the Violence Against Women Act, Angelina Jolie posted the following on social media:  "Today I am thinking of all the children and families who will now have a better chance at a life free of violence. I am also thinking of all those women and children for whom this legislation came too late."
