Putin announces 'special military operation' inside Ukraine

Russian President Vladimir Putin has announced that he has ordered his military to conduct a "special military operation” to “demilitarize” Ukraine, a move that many see as a declaration of war against Ukraine. 

Putin made the announcement in a televised address that aired shortly before 5 a.m. in Kyiv.
