A man sleeping under a parked pick-up truck outside of a Queens cemetery was killed when the vehicle’s owner returned and started driving without knowing he was underneath, police reported.
The man was sleeping under the parked 2008 Ford F3250 at Maurice Avenue and 53rd street in Maspeth, close to Mount Zion Cemetery.
The car’s owner, a 42-year-old man, returned just before 7 p.m., hopped into his car and turned the engine on. As he started driving the truck he felt a large bump, authorities said.
He stepped out of the truck to see what he had hit, finding that he had run over a man.
