In an Instagram post that could read like an erotic tale, eccentric restaurateur Keith McNally—owner, among others, of the iconic Balthazar restaurant in the heart of New York's SoHo—included a cheeky and peculiar anecdote of the "hot spot" in the Big Apple's dining scene.

"We were informed that a couple was having sex in one of the men's urinals on the first floor," read the manager's post. "But when I asked the floor manager to rush down to see what was going on, the couple was nowhere to be found, so the matter remained a mystery."

But the gripping story turned into an even more tantalizing crime novel, as it seems that the woman's ring fell off while "consummating the act" in the small stall.

"Interestingly, [the manager] found a wedding ring on the bathroom floor. He put it Lost & Found," the publication reads.

McNally told Page Six that the couple has not yet returned to claim the ring.

It is also not known whether the couple is married to each other, or to other people.

McNally has become known for posting all sorts of controversial stories on Instagram and frequently mentions his celebrity clients.

Real estate developer Michael Shvo was publicly shamed after the millionaire allegedly walked past the hostess at Balthazar to head straight to the best booth. McNally threatened to ban him from the restaurant, saying "this obnoxious and entitled behavior is the height of arrogance." (Shvo's wife claimed the story was more complicated, arguing that they behaved appropriately.)

He also banned former Vanity Fair editor Graydon Carter after he failed to show up for a 12-person reservation at the famed Morandi restaurant in the West Village, calling him a "fancy f-ker" and saying he "will never be allowed to make a reservation again at one of my restaurants. Ever."

"We will be making a donation today to the restaurant's tip pool to cover what the staff would have earned," Carter told Page Six at the time.

Instead of backing down, months later, when Town & Country asked him what he wanted for the holidays, McNally rudely replied, "Graydon Carter's head on a platter."
