A Pennsylvania high school choir director was arrested Monday after her husband found evidence of a sexual relationship with a 17-year-old female student on their iPad.

Olivia Lois Ortz, 26, was charged with two counts of intercourse/sexual contact with a school student, one count of unlawful contact with a minor for sexual offenses and criminal use of a communication facility by the New Wilmington Borough Police – all felony-level charges.

Her husband, Cody Ortz, does freelance work for the school’s music department and sometimes travels. After he returned from a trip to Florida, he found messages between Olivia and a girl via text and Spotify. He and the school’s principal turned the messages over to Pennsylvania’s child abuse hotline, who then reported it to police, according to the criminal complaint.

The girl admitted to police over multiple interviews that she had been over to Ortz’s home several times while her husband was away where they had physical romantic relations, said the report.

The two continued to communicate even after Ortz was suspended from teaching and notified of the investigation by police because they are in love and need to support each other, according to the report.

The arrest warrant was issued Friday but the music teacher only turned herself in Monday after singing at a local concert on Sunday.

The music teacher Ortz replaced, 37-year-old Jonathan Priano, is also waiting to stand trial over allegations of sexual misconduct with several female students involving the tickling of feet. He has been charged with 10 counts of institutional sexual assault, two counts of unlawful contact with minors, 12 counts of corruption of minors and two counts of endangering the welfare of children.

Another married music teacher, Haley Reed of Kentucky, now 38, was arrested in 2018 for allegedly having sex with one of her students.
