Footage has emerged of Mexico’s deadliest drug cartel allegedly dropping bombs onto a rival camp during a new turf war on Tuesday.

The startling aerial footage shared online shows several bombs being dropped onto a blue tent in a wooded area, sending people fleeing.

The Jalisco New Generation Cartel, or CJNG, has reportedly bombed at least two towns in the city of Tepalcatepec. It started an attack on the towns of El Bejuco and La Romera on Monday as it attempted to seize the city.

Reports say some of the drones were shot down by armed defenders. The second half of the video shows the drone falling from the sky, possibly after being shot down.

Terrified residents have begun fleeing from Tepalcatepec, fearing more bombings.

CJNG rose in 2009 from the breakup of the Milenio Cartel, working as the militant arm of Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzman’s Sinaloa Cartel until breaking off in 2017. It has since grown to become Mexico’s most powerful and feared cartel, using extreme brutality directed at its victims and targets.

The U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration has offered a $10 million reward for information leading to the capture of its leader, Nemesio “El Mencho” Oseguera Cervantes, whose personal fortune is estimated to be $1 billion. CJNG holds an estimated $50 billion in assets.

Cervantes’s wife, “Narco Queen” Rosalinda Gonzalez Valencia was arrested on money laundering charges. She is widely credited as the “financial genius” behind CJNG, so her loss has the potential to cause “significant damage” to the cartel’s operations.
