VIDEO: Woman suffering medical emergency while driving in Florida is saved

A video released on Wednesday by Boynton Beach Police shows the moment when a group of people comes together to save a female driver who suffered an alleged medical episode while on a busy South Florida highway.

The incident occurred on May 5 on Woolbright Road at Congress Avenue in the city of Boynton Beach, when the woman slowly entered the busy intersection after suffering some sort of medical problem, causing her to lose control of the steering wheel.

A co-worker saw the moment when the victim was slumped over the steering wheel, so she ran into the intersection to try to assist the driver, police said, according to NBC Miami.

Several drivers also rushed to stop the slow-moving vehicle, trying to avoid causing any type of car accident.

After stopping the unconscious woman's car, another driver lent one of her exercise dumbbells to break the right rear passenger side window to gain access to the interior of the vehicle.

The group of people managed to push the car to a nearby parking lot, where a nurse assisted the woman until paramedics arrived.
