A waterspout was caught on camera in the Florida Keys, showcasing the awe-inspiring meteorological phenomenon that appeared over the waters of Islamorada.
The images were recorded by a witness using their cell phone, capturing the rare occurrence. While waterspouts are common in Florida waters, they are seldom seen at this time of year.
The sighting occurred this Monday during the intense weather that swept through South Florida.
Similar to tornadoes, waterspouts require a temperature difference, with warmer air near the surface, for their formation.
