Florida Governor Ron DeSantis released a new campaign ad on Monday inspired by the hit movie “Top-Gun: Maverick.”

The video shows DeSantis dressed up as a pilot explaining how to take down and deal with corporate media while moving around an air base that resembles the one in the movie.

“Good morning ladies and gentlemen, this is your Governor speaking,” DeSantis says at the beginning of the video “Today’s training evolution: dogfighting. Taking on the corporate media.”

“The rules of engagement are as follows: Number one, don’t fire unless fired upon, but when they fire, you fire back with overwhelming force,” DeSantis continues in the ad.

“Number two, never ever back down from a fight,” DeSantis continues in the ad… Number three, don’t accept their narrative,” the governor continues in the video.

Throughout the video, there are clips of DeSantis taking on media reporters. “Does it say that in the bill?” DeSantis is seen in a clip asking a reporter. “I’m asking you to tell me what’s in the bill.”

The video ends with DeSantis sitting in the cockpit of a jet as if about to fly it. His son, who is also on the plane, says: “Let’s turn and burn!”

The video was first uploaded by the governor’s wife, Casey DeSantis on Twitter. It has been seen more than 902.5K times.

On Tuesday, Florida Democrats will pick the candidate that will face DeSantis in the upcoming governor elections in November, where DeSantis will seek re-election. The leading candidates are Congressman Charlie Crist and Florida Commissioner of Agriculture Nikki Fried.
