A startling sight unfolded on Monday night in West Palm Beach, Florida, as a massive caiman was seen boldly crossing a central avenue. The approximately 1.80-meter-long reptile brought traffic to a standstill, causing a commotion among passersby.
The caiman was caught around 7 p.m. by members of the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission. Everything seemed like a normal evening when suddenly the huge reptile appeared in the middle of the road.

Described as "reckless" by the West Palm Beach Police Department on social media, the caiman was finally captured around 7 p.m. after blocking northbound lanes for some time near the 4300 block of Australian Avenue, close to a canal and a lake where it apparently emerged from.
