Cher, 76, defends relationship with 36-year-old boyfriend: 'We are happy and we don't bother anyone'

Cher defended her romantic relationship with music executive Alexander Edwards, 36. The singer, 76, was captured holding hands with her new boyfriend, stirring up social media with their significant age gap. 

The "Mamma Mia" and "Moonstruck" star doesn't seem to mind her partner's 40-year age difference. "Love doesn't know math, it sees hearts," she expressed in a message that she later deleted from Twitter but was captured by The Shade Room.

The "Strong Enough" and "Believe" singer shared a photo of her beloved on Twitter with the message "Alexander" and a red heart emoji. When asked if he was her new boyfriend, she responded with a smiley face emoji surrounded by hearts.

Cher revealed to her fans that Edwards has treated her like a "queen" and that everyone in her family already knows him.

They met in September at Paris Fashion Week. Edwards is an artist signed to rapper Tyga's Last Kings Records. Known artistically as A.E., he is vice president of A&R (artists and repertoire) for Def Jam, a label that has signed talents such as Rihanna and Justin Bieber, reported Newsweek.

He was previously in a relationship with model Amber Rose, with whom he had his 3-year-old son Slash. The love affair with Rose ended in August 2021 after three years together. At the time, Rose accused him of being unfaithful with different 12 women. In an Instagram Live, he admitted to having been unfaithful.

Cher fans showed their concern, but the singer replied to a follower "I'm in love, not blinded by love," in a Twitter message that she later deleted.
