VIDEO: Brazilian woman sets herself on fire because her husband did not forgive her for cheating

A Brazilian woman filmed herself setting herself on fire because her husband did not forgive her for cheating, according to several videos that went viral last week on social media.

The terrifying case occurred in the city of Vitória, in the state of Espírito Santo, Brazil, where the media reported that the husband found out about his partner's cheating and decided to leave her. As a result, she decided to set herself on fire in the midst of a great depression. 

"I'm going to burn myself to death. Goodbye," says the woman as she records herself with her cell phone and pours alcohol all over her body. 

She then grabs a lighter and sets herself on fire as "a form of punishment" for having betrayed her husband.

Another video circulating on social media showing a person engulfed in flames coming out of a building was linked to the woman, but it has not yet been confirmed if it is the same person.

Social media users have claimed that the video appears to be fake, since it first shows the woman setting herself on fire, but does not show the moment she leaves her home.

However, Brazilian media reported that fortunately the woman was rescued by some of her relatives and immediately taken to a medical center with serious injuries. The severity of her burns and her current condition is unknown.
