America First businessman Vivek Ramaswamy announced he was suspending his presidential campaign and dropping out of the GOP presidential primary after he trailed in a distant fourth place in the Iowa caucus results on Monday evening.

He has since endorsed former President Trump and turned over his support to the 45th president.

“This is hard for me,” Ramaswamy said. “We’ve looked at it every which way and I think it is true that we did not deliver the surprise we wanted tonight.”

He then explained why he endorsed Trump.

"There are two America first candidates in this race," he said, saying that he called Trump and congratulated him.

"Now, going forward, he will have my full endorsement for the presidency and I think we're going to do the right thing for this country," he added.

Ramaswamy came in last of four candidates—former President Donald, Trump, former U.N. Ambassador and South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley and Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis.

Trump was projected as the winner early Monday evening, effectively declaring him the victor of the caucus, which is the first primary state. The next primary election is in The Granite State—New Hampshire.
