Three masked teenagers opened fire in a Maryland school bus on Monday in what is being described as an “attempted murder” on another 14-year-old student. Police are searching for the suspects.
The Prince George’s County Alternative Middle School was doing its routine afternoon drop-off in Suitland when three teenagers jumped on the bus. The masked teenagers headed to the last student remaining, pulled out a gun, aimed it at the 14-year-old’s head, and pulled the trigger.
“They pulled the trigger three times, but for some reason, by the grace of God, the gun didn’t go off and bullets flew out of the gun,” said Martin Diggs, head of the bus drivers’ union.
In light of their failed execution attempt, the teenagers proceeded to physically beat the 14-year-old student. They then fled the scene.
“This was an attempted murder, plain and simple. Call it what it is,” Diggs told the outlet.
The video system onboard the bus captured the moment when the three assailants attempted their attack. The extent of the injuries on the 14-year-old is still unknown.

Both the driver of the bus and the aide were left in a state of shock at what has just transpired.
“They’re terrified. The one driver doesn’t even want to come back to work. They are terrified. They don’t even want to come out of the house,” Diggs said.
Police are investigating the motive for the assault and attempted murder, as well as the identities of the three assailants, and are offering a cash reward for any information leading to their arrest.
“We are outraged as a district. Horrified that this incident did occur,” said Charoscar Coleman, the associate superintendent of Prince George’s County public schools, adding that if anyone has any information about the attack please come forward.
“There was a small amount of people on this bus,” he added. “What if there was a busload of kids?”
