The House Oversight Committee issued a subpoena on Wednesday for an FBI document that allegedly links President Biden to a “criminal scheme” ran during his vice presidency, after receiving a tip from a whistleblower.

According to House Republicans, the unclassified document, FD-1023, claims that Biden was involved in a corruption scheme that involved “the exchange of money for policy decisions” during his time as vice president.

The Oversight Committee found out about the alleged scheme after a “legally protected and highly credible unclassified” whistleblower came forth with information about the document.

The tip about the document “raises concerns that then-Vice President Biden allegedly engaged in a bribery scheme with a foreign national,” said Oversight Committee Chairman Jamer Comer (R-Ky).

“The American people need to know if President Biden sold out the United States of America to make money for himself,” Comer added. "Will seek the truth to ensure accountability for the American people."

According to a letter sent to Attorney General Merrick Garland and FBI Director Christopher Wray by Comer and Senate Budget Committee ranking member Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa), the document in question presents a “precise description” of the scheme between the president and the foreign national in detail.

“Based on the alleged specificity within the document, it would appear that the DOJ and the FBI have enough information to determine the truth and accuracy of the information contained within it. However, it remains unclear what steps, if any, were taken to investigate the matter,” the letter says.

The subpoena set a deadline of May 10 for all of the unclassified forms in the document that was “created or modified in June 2020” containing the word “Biden.” they believe that at least one of the forms will show them the information they are looking for.

The Department of Justice confirmed that they received the letter and the subpoena but did not comment any further regarding the matter.

The letter and the subpoena provide little information about the allegation, the foreign national, or the whistleblower.
