An Arizona mother was stung more than 75 times by a swarm of bees while she was trying to protect her kids earlier this month, fire department officials said.

Firefighters responded to a call reporting a bee attack on a family that had been swarmed by bees during a family photo shoot in Buckeye Valley, the Arizona Fire & Medical Authority said.

"Please hurry! Please hurry! My daughter can't get in the car, she's getting attacked by bees!" the children’s grandmother says on her call to 911. "My granddaughters are with her. Please send some help!"

The mother’s “quick thinking” saved her kids from the bees by immediately putting them into the car while she stayed outside, causing her to get severely stung, fire officials said.

“I'm not sure as to why she didn't put herself in the car afterward. Maybe she was thinking that the bees would follow her in. But she drew that swarm away and took the brunt of those stings," said Ashley Losch with Arizona Fire and Medical Authority.

"She was transported to the hospital with over 75 stings but thankfully has recovered," fire officials said.

Footage shared by the Arizona Fire & Medical Authority shows firefighters spraying white foam on the car to help calm the bees before they remove the children from within it and take them to safety.

While the family is recovering from the attack, the mother and the kids are still traumatized and recovering emotionally, reported Fox 10 Phoenix.

If ever attacked by bees, the best strategy is to get inside a safe place, according to the Arizona Fire & Medical Authority.

"Run in a straight line, cover your face, and get to the shelter," officials said. "Never get into the water and do not fight the bees."
