Florida police recently announced the cause of death for 2-year-old Taylen Mosley, who authorities say was killed by her father last month. The St. Petersburg Police Department confirmed Monday that the boy had drowned.

Taylen's mother, Pashun Jeffery, 20, was found dead in the bathroom of her apartment on March 30, with more than 100 stab wounds. After her discovery, Taylen was reported missing.

The next day, authorities found the boy's body in the mouth of an alligator in Lake Maggiore. According to police, Taylen's father, Thomas Mosley, is believed to have thrown or placed the boy in the water.

Investigators allege that Mosley murdered both Jeffery and his son. After the alleged crimes, he showed up at her mother's house with injuries to his hands and arms, which were consistent with those suffered during an attack with a knife. Mosley then sought treatment at St. Anthony Hospital. While there, he refused to cooperate with the search for his son, Police Chief Anthony Holloway reported.

Further evidence emerged when a bloody fingerprint on a bottle of cleaning solution, found hidden under a bed, was matched to Thomas Mosley. As a result, Mosley now faces two counts of first-degree murder in the death of Pashun Jeffery and his son, Taylen.
