At least seven people died after a chocolate factory in West Reading, Pennsylvania exploded on Friday, as authorities continue to search for the cause of the devastating incident.

The explosion took place at around 5 p.m. on Friday, destroying a two-story building and damaging another at the R.M. Palmer Company’s factory. The cause of the explosion is still under investigation.

As of Sunday night, officials announced that the death toll had increased to seven and all missing people had been accounted for.

"Tonight we were able to announce that all seven presumptive missing have been found — please understand that this is still a devastating loss," West Reading Mayor Samantha Kaag said in a statement Sunday night. "But we are truly grateful to bring closure to the families involved in the upcoming days."

As rescue crews inspected the rubble of the incident, they discovered a fourth victim under the debris on Sunday morning, according to West Reading police chief Wayne Holben. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

A fifth body was found on Sunday at around 10: 42 a.m. and two others were recovered from the rubble in the afternoon. Their identities had not yet been released.

"Please be patient and respectful as we work with the county to get the families information, closure, and resources for now and the foreseeable future," Kaag said.

The cause of the explosion at the candy company, which makes seasonal chocolates, is still under investigation. However, authorities believe it may have resulted from a gas leak.

"The investigation efforts will now be underway and we can find answers to how this happened and how/if we can prevent it from happening in the future," Kaag wrote Sunday night on Facebook.

At least 10 other people were hospitalized from the explosion. Six of the victims have already been discharged, according to CBS.
