A homeowner from San Manuel, Arizona walked into a big surprise when he entered his home and found a bobcat lounging on his dog’s bed on Wednesday.
The homeowner believes that the wild cat entered the home through an unlocked doggy door, leading it to the inside before eventually plopping down on the dog’s bed.
Pictures posted on social media by the Arizona Game and Fish Department in Tucson show the large cat casually lying on the large pillow made for a dog with a blanket nearby.
“The homeowner, who found it upon returning from work, suspects it entered through an unlocked doggie door,” the agency’s tweet read. “The bobcat escaped before an officer arrived.”

The Arizona man called the Arizona Game and Fish Department to report the incident, but the bobcat escaped from the house before an officer arrived, the agency said.
No injuries to humans, dogs, or bobcats were reported during the incident.
The Arizona Game and Fish Department reminded citizens not to handle or trap wildlife on their own. If someone were to encounter a wild animal, such as a bobcat, they should call authorities as soon as possible so that a professional wildlife rehabilitator can “remove or assess a wild animal,” the agency said.
Bobcats are primarily found in North America, particularly in the United States, according to the Smithsonian’s National Zoo and Conservation Biology Institute. Wild cats tend to be “solitary and territorial animals” that eat meat, mice, rats, chicks, and bones.
