The winner of the $2.04 billion jackpot, the biggest in Powerball history, recently purchased a California mansion in the Hollywood Hills of Los Angeles.
Edwin Castro's new luxury home cost $25.5 million and is located in the Hollywood Hills neighborhood, according to Dirt, a page specializing in real estate transactions for high-profile, net-worth individuals.
Castro is now "the proud owner of one of the flashiest new mansions in the star-studded Hollywood Hills," Dirt reports, adding that "some of his next-door neighbors include Ariana Grande, Dakota Johnson and Jimmy Kimmel."
The 13,578-square-meter mansion is situated on a 0.58-acre lot and features an infinity pool, five bedrooms, six bathrooms, and other common spaces. The main room is located on the third floor and has its own balcony.
“The main level contains a spacious central living room anchored at opposite ends by a giant fireplace and a kitchen with black granite countertops. The glass walls create a seamless connection to the fully landscaped backyard, which offers a full outdoor kitchen and infinity pool,” according to Dirt.
Castro purchased the winning ticket at Joe's Service Center in Altadena, California. The winning numbers were 10, 33, 41, 47, 56 and the Powerball number which is 10.
The lucky man decided to take home the lump sum of $997.6 million in cash after taxes, becoming one of the richest people in California overnight.
