2 Cuban migrants reach Florida Keys on windsurfing boards
The two migrants were apprehended by U.S. Border Patrol agents soon after landing near the Seven Mile Bridge

Two Cuban migrants made the dangerous journey through open waters from Cuba to the Florida keys on windsurfing boards, officials reported on Wednesday morning.
The two migrants were apprehended by U.S. Border Patrol agents soon after landing near the Seven Mile Bridge, The U.S. Customs and Border Protection tweeted.
Chief Patrol Agent Walter N. Slosar, who leads the agency’s Miami sector, said the migrants were uninjured.
He added that the migrants will be processed for removal proceedings.

The latest encounter comes a day after a crew from Marathon stopped a boat on its way to the U.S. carrying several undocumented immigrants.
U.S. Coast Guard Southeast officials tweeted a video of the encounter with the vessel. The migrants were apprehended and processed.

People wanting to come to the U.S. are encouraged to do so through legal means and not on unsafe voyages or by paying smugglers.

Two days earlier a group of 10 Cuban migrants were found in the Florida Keys after their boat sank, authorities reported. Officials found the migrants on Duck Key, an island in the middle of the Florida Keys.
