Former Democrat presidential candidate and Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard said Tuesday she's leaving her political party.

Gabbard, a former Congresswoman who represented Hawaii who also served militarily in Iraq made a statement in a Twitter post accompanied by a one-minute-long video, which she used as a platform to explain her reasons.

“I can no longer remain in today’s Democratic Party that is now under the complete control of an elitist cabal of warmongers driven by cowardly wokeness, who divide us by racializing every issue & stoke anti-white racism,” Gabbard tweeted.

The former Hawaii Congresswoman’s decision did not come as a shock, as Gabbard has criticized the party lately and made numerous FOX News appearances, which has made her a rising star among Republicans.

She has made frequent appearances with Tucker Carlson and spoken out on his show about her views concerning the Democratic Party.
