A man was charged with assaulting two flight attendants and breaking a bathroom door during a United Airlines flight from Miami to Washington, D.C. on Tuesday, according to court documents filed this week.

About an hour into the two-hour flight, the man, identified as Cherruy Loghan Sevilla, began yelling and exhibiting “disturbing/uncontrolled behavior.”

Witnesses said he began running down the aisle, clapping, and getting close to people’s faces while staring at them and smiling, reported CBS news.

While the crew managed to get him to take his seat, it didn’t last long. Sevilla then got up and attacked a flight attendant, "grabbing and twisting" her breast, according to the documents.

At this point, a group of passengers, flight attendants, and an onboard law enforcement official tackled Sevilla and managed to subdue him. In the struggle, however, Sevilla twisted another flight attendant’s arm.

When the plane landed, Sevilla was taken into custody. He then revealed that he had taken the hallucinogenic drug psilocybin before boarding the flight.

Sevilla told officers that it was not his first time taking the hallucinogenic. "He was not totally surprised he acted this way after consuming it," the court documents added.

Sevilla was charged with assault and interfering with flight crew members and attendants.
