Authorities found 84 undocumented migrants as they were getting off of a tractor-trailer on Thursday 12 miles away from the U.S.-Mexico border in Hidalgo, Texas.

A local resident reported the suspicious truck that had parked near a residence in Weslaco, Texas, about 15 miles east of downtown McAllen.

When the sheriff’s officials and Border Patrol responded to the scene, they took the migrants into custody.

According to Hidalgo County Sheriff Eddie Guerra, the migrants came from Central America. None of the migrants apprehended at the scene needed medical assistance, he added.

picture shared by sheriff Guerra on Twitter shows the red tractor-trailer that was transporting the undocumented immigrants. Another picture shows the migrants lined up as they are being identified by officials.

An investigation into the incident found that the truck carrying the migrants had appeared on TikTok a day early as an add to recruit a driver for $70,000. The Texas Department of Public Safety confirmed that the video was related to the migrants found in Hidalgo County.

The investigation is ongoing. Special agents with ICE Homeland Security Investigations are looking into the incident as a human smuggling case, the sheriff added.
