Venezuelan minister mocks pregnant Ukrainian women evacuated after a Russian bombardment

The former president of Venezuela's National Electoral Council (CNE) and current Minister of University Education in the country, Tibisay Lucena, mocked on Tuesday the pregnant women who were evacuated from a children's hospital in the Ukrainian city of Mariupol after the Russians bombed it.
Lucena said that she saw on social media "pregnant women saving themselves from a bloody Russian bombing to go model for a famous brand." She also claimed it was "fake news.”
"There are many examples. A few popped up this weekend and reminded me of the White Helmets situations. Real communicational demons who were nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize and ended up winning an Oscar. That says a lot, doesn't it?" she said during a conference at the inauguration of the International University of Communications.
According to the former president of the CNE, Western media is trying to "demonize" Russian President Vladimir Putin.

The Venezuelan minister's statements come after one of the pregnant women who was evacuated from the bombed hospital died. Her baby also died.
Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro sent a message to Putin earlier this month. "Regarding the conflict in Ukraine, the main war in the world is economic, financial and commercial. The indiscriminate and illegal use of the dollar currency advantage of the financial system by the United States and Europe is to harm the countries of the world, to blackmail everyone," he said.
"It is a crime what they are doing against the Russian people, an economic war, they took them out of the Swift system, they closed their airspace, they closed all commercial links, they closed and prohibited the use of the dollar," he added.
"The economic war is the main war that imperialism is waging against Russia in order to destroy Russia. The aim of the US empire and NATO was to encircle it militarily, and Russia has acted," he concluded.
“La guerra económica es la guerra principal que el imperialismo apuesta contra Rusia para destruir Rusia. El objetivo del imperio norteamericano y de la OTAN era rodearla militarmente y Rusia ha actuado”, añadió.
